UNICEF's "Generation 2050 in Central Asia" Report Will Be Presented in Brussels
The UNICEF Regional Office for Europe and Central Asia is preparing a large-scale presentation of the "Generation 2050 in Central Asia" report in Brussels. This important international event was the key topic of a meeting between Turkmenistan's Ambassador to Belgium, Sapar Palvanov, and UNICEF Deputy Regional Director, Octavian Bivol.
The Turkmen diplomat praised the timeliness and relevance of the upcoming UNICEF report and proposed expanding the scope of the Brussels event. According to Palvanov, the meeting should not be limited to the presentation of analytical data, but rather become a substantive platform for high-level political dialogue involving Central Asian states, relevant European Union institutions, international financial organizations, and development partners.
This format will allow Central Asian countries and European institutions to move from theory to practice, discussing real investments in human capital and strengthening regional cooperation.
During the talks, UNICEF Deputy Regional Director Octavian Bivol highlighted Turkmenistan's demographic profile. Currently, more than half of the country's population is under 30 years of age.
The UN representative described this indicator as a valuable national resource and a powerful potential for future progress for the entire region. In this context, the parties agreed that consistent investments in the health, education, and social protection of the younger generation are crucial for sustainable economic growth and high national productivity.
Octavian Bivol praised Turkmenistan's constructive and consistent approach, expressing gratitude for its support of UNICEF programs.
