How to Develop Your Child's Personality Over the Summer Using Free Methods
Summer break is a perennial dilemma for parents and teachers. On the one hand, children need a meaningful break from the school routine, but on the other, they don't want three months of summer spent solely staring at smartphones, watching meaningless videos. How can we combine gadgets, play, and real benefits for the future? Experts from the "Contribution to the Future" Charitable Foundation have proposed a solution, developing and making publicly available a set of educational materials for children's camps and home activities.
These materials are based on the inspiring concept of "Human Completion"—a term coined by renowned psychophysiologist Joseph Feigenberg. Its essence remarkably accurately reflects the realities of the 21st century: modern people achieve success not by competing with technology, but by consciously "completing" their capabilities with its help. This set of expert developments helps teenagers test this model by developing key soft skills through gamification.
The program consists of 19 ready-made game scenarios, divided into three fundamental areas:
Artificial intelligence and digital skills. Instead of banning gadgets, children are encouraged to look under the hood of technology. For example, in the board game "NeuroTeka," children try their hand at being AI developers, developing rules for the fair and responsible use of "smart" assistants. This develops critical thinking and the understanding that technology is merely a tool in human hands.
Emotional intelligence. The ability to understand one's emotions, cope with stress, and negotiate within a team is fundamental to building a successful career and a happy life. Through interactive workshops, children learn self-regulation and effective communication with peers.
Financial literacy. The economic simulator "Stock Market" introduces schoolchildren to the basics of investing in an easy-to-understand way. Through hands-on experience with real-life situations, they learn to analyze information, weigh risks, and make independent financial decisions.
The materials are designed using a modular principle: they can be deployed as a full camp session lasting 14–21 days, or they can be used at home, with individual quizzes and quests selected for a useful family evening or rainy day.
This project is of particular importance to readers in Turkmenistan. The foundation's programs are closely connected to our reality: in March 2026, a delegation from the "Contribution to the Future" foundation visited Ashgabat with the support of the Ministry of Education of Turkmenistan. Experts presented their digital and educational platforms at the Institute of Telecommunications and Informatics and the International University for Humanities and Development. Leading universities in the country, from the Magtymguly Turkmen State University to the State Medical University, joined the discussion of innovations in education online.
At the same time, Turkmen students were introduced to the "Designing the Future" global competition, aimed at integrating AI into science and solving social problems. The current summer workshops are a practical continuation of that larger dialogue about the skills of the future.
