Turkmenistan's Foreign Ministry Held Talks with US Senator Steve Daines

On July 9, Turkmenistan's Foreign Minister Rashid Meredov met with US Senator Steve Daines of Montana, who was visiting Ashgabat.
The diplomats conducted a detailed review of the current state of bilateral relations, reaffirming the importance of maintaining regular contacts at the high and interparliamentary levels.
The two sides highlighted the intensification of interparliamentary interaction as a key mechanism for building trust between the two countries. It was noted that direct contacts between the legislative bodies of Turkmenistan and the United States make it possible to develop a flexible legal and political framework for a long-term partnership. The meeting also included an exchange of views on the most pressing issues of international and regional security.

The talks placed particular emphasis on practical trade and economic cooperation. The parties outlined concrete steps in the following areas:
Energy: Prospects for technological cooperation and the implementation of joint infrastructure projects were discussed.
Logistics and transport: Potential for integration into international transport corridors was explored.
Investment: Intensifying direct contacts between American companies and Turkmen businesses.
The parties identified the Turkmenistan-USA Business Council as the main driver for advancing these areas, serving as an effective working platform for establishing direct B2B contacts and presenting export potential.
