Turkmenistan's Delegation Participates in the Codex Alimentarius Commission Session in Geneva
A delegation from Turkmenistan is participating in the 49th session of the Codex Alimentarius Commission, taking place in Geneva, Switzerland, from 6 to 10 July 2026. The Turkmen delegation includes Dr. Arslan Soltanmyradov, representative of the State Veterinary Service, and Maya Annanepesova, representative of the Ministry of Health and Medical Industry.
The Commission is the highest intergovernmental body of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) and the World Health Organization (WHO). Its primary mission is to develop international food safety standards, protect consumer health, and promote fair practices in the global food trade.
During the multi-day session at the International Conference Centre Geneva, the Turkmen representatives are taking an active part in plenary meetings and technical discussions. Participants are addressing issues related to improving food quality control systems, strengthening biosafety, harmonizing national sanitary requirements with international standards, and enhancing interagency cooperation.
