Dashoguz Velayat Grain Growers Fulfill State Wheat Procurement Obligations
The main message from a working meeting held on Monday, July 6, via digital communications, chaired by President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov, was the labor victory of farmers in the northern region of the country. The governor of the Dashoguz Velayat reported to the head of state that the region's grain growers had successfully and fully fulfilled their contractual obligations to deliver wheat to the country's granaries. President Serdar Berdimuhamedov warmly congratulated the velayat's grain growers on this achievement, wishing them continued success, and instructed the region's leadership to ensure the prompt collection of every last grain remaining.
During the meeting, the governors of all velayats and Deputy Prime Minister Tangryguly Atakhalliyev reported on the final stage of the grain harvesting campaign and ongoing seasonal work. Currently, transportation of harvested crops from receiving points to elevators and warehouses to ensure proper storage is in full swing in all regions. At the same time, the foundation for next year's harvest is being laid: plowing and land leveling are underway in areas cleared of wheat, and high-quality seed is being selected.
Meanwhile, active cotton care continues in the country's agricultural sector. Inter-row cultivation, irrigation, and mineral fertilizer application are being carried out using modern equipment. To ensure food abundance in domestic markets, the regions have organized a mass harvest of potatoes, vegetables, and melons. In the Dashoguz and Lebap velayats, rice paddies are also being tended, and in the Mary region, sugar beet sowing and irrigation for germination continue.
After hearing the reports, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov issued a number of specific instructions to the regional leaders and the relevant deputy prime minister. The head of state emphasized the need for a comprehensive approach to addressing current challenges, demanding strict oversight of compliance with agricultural standards in the fields, the timely preparation of equipment for the upcoming sowing season, and the pace of construction of social, cultural, and industrial facilities scheduled for completion in 2026.
