Students of the International University of Oil and Gas Undertake Three-Week Internship in China

Students of the Yagshygeldi Kakayev International University of Oil and Gas have traveled to Beijing to participate in an academic and industrial internship at the China University of Petroleum. The program runs from June 29 to July 20, 2026, and is organized under the agreement establishing the Joint Turkmen–Chinese Energy Education Center.
The main objective of the internship is to train highly qualified specialists for Turkmenistan’s oil and gas industry while providing students with access to advanced global technologies. During the three-week program, the participants will visit laboratories and training centers at the Chinese university and explore facilities of the China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC), where they will study the implementation of low-waste and energy-efficient technologies.
In addition to practical training, the program features an intensive educational component. Students will attend lectures on green energy, carbon emission reduction, and the application of artificial intelligence in the oil and gas sector. They will also complete short courses in the Chinese language and culture. As part of the cultural exchange, visits to the Great Wall of China, the China Science and Technology Museum, and the Geological Museum of China are planned.
The internship will enable students to strengthen their theoretical knowledge, gain experience in the digitalization of educational processes, and establish professional contacts with fellow students in Beijing. The adoption of China's advanced innovations is expected to contribute to the further modernization of Turkmenistan’s fuel and energy sector and its education system.
