Turkmen Agricultural University students complete internship in Tashkent

From June 22 to July 4, students of the Faculty of Agricultural Mechanization at the S.A. Niyazov Turkmen Agricultural University are undertaking a practical training program in Uzbekistan. The two-week internship is being held at the Tashkent Institute of Irrigation and Agricultural Mechanization Engineers. The main objective of the program is to familiarize students with innovative technologies used in the agricultural and water management sectors.
Leading professors from the Tashkent institute have prepared a comprehensive academic program for the Turkmen students. During lectures, participants study the impact of climate change on agricultural land, FAO irrigation methodologies, water-saving technologies, as well as the application of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and remote sensing technologies. In the institute's modern laboratories, students conduct research on the physical and mechanical properties of soils and test advanced GPS systems used in agricultural machinery.
Special emphasis is placed on hands-on experience. The students visit leading specialized organizations in Uzbekistan, including the UzGIP Design Institute, AGROMAX TEXNIC, and the Republican Center for Agricultural Machinery Testing. In addition to their studies, the participants take part in guided tours of Tashkent's cultural centers and museums.
The internship is part of the annual academic exchange program carried out under the cooperation agreement signed between the two universities in 2018. Earlier this year, in May, Uzbek students completed a similar internship in Ashgabat. Such reciprocal programs make an important contribution to training highly qualified specialists for the agro-industrial sector while strengthening the friendly ties between Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan.
