Nature shows no mercy, yet in times of trouble, humanity always extends a helping hand. In the fury of water and wind, the best in people emerges — the readiness to risk one's own life to save others. Torrential rains did not stop those whose profession is to come to aid in the most dangerous situations.

On Tuesday, rescuers and firefighters, despite heavy downpours, carried out evacuation operations in flooded areas of the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region in southern China, and on Monday in the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region in the north. In Tian'e County, Guangxi, a sudden downpour hit a village, leaving a married couple trapped after they crossed a river to check their farmlands.

Local residents launched a rescue operation shortly after learning that the couple was caught in floodwaters. Rescuers managed to throw a rope across the river, with both ends tied to trees on either bank. Accompanied by the rescuers, the couple successfully waded through the deep water and were evacuated to safety.

In Xinghe County, Inner Mongolia, a car was swept into a river while attempting to cross a flooded bridge. The vehicle partially submerged and tilted, forcing the driver to climb onto the roof and wait for help. Firefighters used a rope to deliver a life jacket and helmet to the stranded driver, then safely pulled him to shore.

In China, floods and inundations are common during the summer months, especially in the southern and northern regions. Local authorities place rescue services on high alert in advance, and emergency agencies respond swiftly to every incident to minimise damage and protect lives. As CCTV+ reports. Rescue operations continue, with meteorologists warning of possible further rainfall in the affected areas.
