Turkmen and Chinese Universities Sign Agreements on Teacher Training


A delegation of leaders and specialists from three leading pedagogical universities of Turkmenistan paid a working visit to Urumqi, China. From June 5 to 26, the Turkmen delegation participated in the international scientific and educational forum "Central Asia – China: Cooperation in Industry, Education, Science and Practice."
Held under the theme "Digital Intelligence Empowers, the Silk Road Connects the Future," the forum brought together scholars from across the region and served as an important platform for strengthening bilateral cooperation.

During the plenary session, Magtymguly Turkmen State University, Dovletmammet Azadi Turkmen National Institute of World Languages, and Seyitnazar Seydi Turkmen State Pedagogical Institute signed trilateral framework cooperation agreements with the Center for Language Education and Cooperation of the Ministry of Education of the People's Republic of China and Xinjiang Normal University.
An important part of the visit was participation in a scientific conference hosted by Xinjiang Normal University, focusing on Chinese studies, Central Asian regional studies, and language teaching methodology. The Turkmen representatives presented the country's successful experience in integrating education, science, and industry, as well as implementing modern digital education programs.
During bilateral meetings, the parties also approved a joint roadmap for training highly qualified teachers of the future. This initiative directly supports the implementation of the Strategy for the Development of Higher Professional Education in Turkmenistan for 2026–2052 and elevates the strategic partnership between Turkmenistan and China to a new level.
