On July 1, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan hosted a high-level briefing for heads of diplomatic missions, international organizations, and the international press. The topic of the briefing was the upcoming entry of the national equestrian heritage into the prestigious European arena. The diplomats focused on preparations for the large-scale World Equestrian Championships and the International Akhal-Teke Beauty Contest.

This event is scheduled to take place from September 4 to 6, 2026, at the renowned Pilbergen Equestrian Center in Cronenberg, Netherlands. Integrating the "heavenly horses" show into the prestigious September Concours de Saut International (International Show Jumping Competition) in the Netherlands will showcase the breed's exemplary build and performance qualities to a wide audience of European professionals, experts, and reputable breeders.

The upcoming European event logically continues the triumphant international Akhal-Teke calendar this season. Earlier this year, the grace and perfect lines of the legendary breed were applauded by discerning British aristocracy at the prestigious Royal Westminster Races. The baton of recognition was then taken up by Tashkent, where Turkmen horses won top honors at the specialized "Star of the East" championship, confirming their leadership in the Central Asian region.

Now the baton is being taken up by Kronenberg: the Pilbergen complex, renowned for its high-tech sand and grass fields, regularly hosts the Longines EEF Nations Cup semifinals and is a recognized "Mecca" of the equestrian industry, guaranteeing the highest level of organization for the presentation of Turkmenistan's national heritage. Diplomats and journalists received detailed information about planned events aimed at promoting this unique cultural heritage. It is symbolic that this large-scale European project is being implemented in 2026, a year celebrated in the country under the official motto "Independent Neutral Turkmenistan – Homeland of the Purposeful Winged Horses."

For the diplomatic corps based in Ashgabat, this briefing was an opportunity to assess how Turkmenistan's national traditions are transforming into global cultural bridges. This large-scale September event in the Netherlands is intended not only to enhance the global fame of the Akhal-Teke horses but also to open a new chapter in the integration of the Turkmen people's historical heritage into the modern international sporting and cultural arena.
