On 29–30 June 2026, the Ministry of Communications of Turkmenistan, in cooperation with the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), is hosting the two-day Future of Connectivity forum. The event is being held in person at the Ministry's premises and brings together representatives of government agencies, regulatory authorities, telecommunications operators, and academic institutions from CIS countries.

The forum has opened with discussions on key trends in the development of mobile and fixed communication networks, including Wi-Fi 6/7/8 standards, LEO/MEO/GEO satellite communication technologies, Direct-to-Device connectivity, and the application of artificial intelligence in network management. Dedicated sessions also focus on transport infrastructure, private cellular networks, and the use of unmanned aerial vehicles within mobile frequency bands.

The forum features presentations by ITU experts, including Vadim Poskakukhin, Technical Director of Ubiquitous Wireless LLP (Kazakhstan) with more than 20 years of experience in radio spectrum regulation; Konstantin Savin, Head of Technical Affairs at GSMA Eurasia, specializing in 5G and digital transformation; and Vahan Hovsepyan, Senior Advisor at RIPE NCC on Internet security and connectivity.

The event will conclude with a roundtable discussion on practical approaches to implementing modern telecommunications technologies in Turkmenistan. Participation in the forum is free of charge for all interested stakeholders.
