The Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov Charitable Foundation Expands International Ties

A major infrastructure agreement was signed at the headquarters of the Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov Charitable Foundation for Assistance to Children in Need of Care in Arkadag. Oguljahan Atabayeva, Vice President for Medical Affairs, participated in the signing of a contract with the renowned Turkish company Gap İnşaat Yatırım ve Dış Ticaret A.Ş. The agreement provides for the large-scale modernization and reconstruction of an existing school in Arkadag, as well as the construction of a modern sports complex and a new 320-child kindergarten on its premises, financed by the Foundation. This step will significantly strengthen the material and technical infrastructure of the social sector in the "smart city."
The signing of the contract took place amid an intensive diplomatic marathon by the Foundation's management aimed at expanding humanitarian cooperation with key international partners. In particular, during a meeting between Oguljahan Atabayeva and Narine Saakyan, Resident Representative of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Turkmenistan, issues of improving public welfare and integrating UN country programs with national social protection mechanisms were discussed. The parties reaffirmed their commitment to advancing the Sustainable Development Goals, drawing on the UNDP's current memorandum with UNICEF.
Children's healthcare and specialized education were a central topic of discussion with Ji Shumin, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People's Republic of China to Turkmenistan. The parties praised the results of mutual visits, including last year's signing of a Memorandum of Understanding with the Soong Ching Ling Foundation and the recent visit to Ashgabat of a delegation from the Beijing University of Chinese Medicine, which creates a solid foundation for the implementation of advanced medical practices.
