Turkmenistan and Belarus Discuss Air Service and Prepare Intergovernmental Commission Meeting

On June 18, a working meeting was held in Ashgabat between Batyr Annayev, Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan for Transport and Communications, and Stanislav Chepurny, Ambassador of the Republic of Belarus to Turkmenistan. The diplomat and the Deputy Prime Minister discussed in detail practical steps to expand their strategic partnership, focusing on the development of sustainable supply chains across the Eurasian region.
These talks were a direct follow-up to the key agreements reached during the recent visit to Ashgabat of Belarusian Prime Minister Alexander Turchin and his official meeting with Turkmen President Serdar Berdimuhamedov on May 22. Batyr Annayev and Stanislav Chepurny focused on a range of issues related to regular air service between the countries, which is intended to boost both business activity and tourism.
In addition to the aviation sector, the parties discussed in detail the prospects for cooperation within international transport and logistics corridors and outlined areas for increasing mutual trade.
An important outcome of the meeting was the agreement on the agenda for the upcoming regular meeting of the joint Intergovernmental Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation, which aims to formalize new contracts between the business communities of the two countries, according to the press service of the Belarusian Foreign Ministry.
