Turkmen PhD Student at Saratov State University Was Recognized as “The Best CIS Student”

Nepesmyrat Gylyjov, a PhD student at the Faculty of Biology of Saratov State University (SSU) and a native of Turkmenistan, has won the prestigious international “The Best CIS Student” competition. The young researcher outperformed strong competitors in this large-scale youth project.
The competition was organized by the National Center for Education and Innovation “Parasat” together with the “Zhana Kazakhstan” Innovation Center. Its main goal is to identify, support, and encourage talented, proactive, and leadership-oriented students from the countries of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS). In 2026, more than 2,000 young people took part in the project, competing in various categories, including science, arts, sports, and public service.
Nepesmyrat Gylyjov’s victory is the natural result of many years of dedicated work. He previously graduated from SSU with distinction, earning both his bachelor’s and master’s degrees. In 2024, he received the title of “The International Student of the Year” at the regional stage of a prestigious Russian award.
Today, the young scientist is actively engaged in research, has authored several specialized scientific articles, and co-authored three educational textbooks published for students from Turkmenistan. In addition, he successfully combines his doctoral studies with his work as a biology teacher at a school, where his students have already achieved prize-winning results in regional academic Olympiads.
