Turkmen Media Delegation Holds Dialogue with Turkmenistan’s Ambassador to the EU in Brussels

As part of a press tour in Brussels, the Turkmen media delegation met with Sapar Palvanov, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Turkmenistan to Belgium and Head of the country's Mission to the European Union. The meeting was held in an open dialogue format, focusing on practical areas of cooperation between Turkmenistan and the European Union.
The Embassy of Turkmenistan in Brussels is carrying out systematic work to strengthen political and economic cooperation between Turkmenistan and the European Union. Particular attention is being paid to expanding transport connectivity between Europe and Central Asia, developing East–West transit routes, and enhancing Turkmenistan’s role as a regional logistics and transit hub.
Special emphasis is also placed on promoting economic and investment cooperation. Within the framework of the practical agenda, the parties are exploring opportunities for collaboration in energy, sustainable development, and critical raw materials that are important for European industry and the green transition process.
The diplomatic mission is also actively involved in organizing and facilitating a number of multilateral meetings in Brussels. In particular, at the initiative of the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Belgium, a working breakfast was held with the participation of the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Belgium, as well as ambassadors of the Central Asian countries and Mongolia. The participants discussed economic, transport, and energy cooperation, along with collaboration in the fields of critical raw materials and sustainable development.
Within the framework of the “Central Asia–European Union” regional format, Turkmenistan consistently advocates moving from general declarations to the implementation of concrete projects and practical cooperation mechanisms.
The journalists participating in the press tour had the opportunity to familiarize themselves with the work of European institutions and diplomatic missions, as well as with the development of the practical agenda of cooperation between the European Union and the countries of Central Asia.
Guided by the principles of neutrality, equality, and mutual respect, Turkmenistan continues to develop constructive relations with the European Union, paying special attention to expanding economic ties, energy cooperation, and transport connectivity.
Brussels remains a key platform where the practical foundations of dialogue between the European Union and the countries of Central Asia are being shaped. An important role in this process is played by Turkmenistan’s diplomatic mission to the European Union, which consistently promotes political and economic cooperation and the development of practical forms of partnership between the parties.
