Graduates Defend Their Theses at the State Academy of Arts of Turkmenistan

The State Academy of Arts of Turkmenistan hosted the successful defense of graduation theses prepared by young art historians who dedicated their research to national art. The graduates selected profound and diverse topics aimed at preserving and promoting the rich cultural heritage of the Turkmen people. At the beginning of their presentations, each student clearly outlined the main objective of their work, ensuring that the defense process remained dynamic and that the topics were presented in an accessible and understandable manner for all attendees.
The graduates explored a wide range of subjects, from classical painting to design. For example, Ayjan Astanova presented a unique study on the history and artistic design of clocks and watches, while Servi Gurbanberdiyeva focused on the image of the legendary Ahalteke horse in visual art. Nurana Sakhetgeldiyeva and Sulgun Sayylova examined museum treasures as a bridge of friendship and the warm philosophy of tea culture in Turkmen painting. Amangul Gochmyradova’s album was devoted to the harmony of color in specific art exhibitions.

Special attention was also given to the creative legacy of renowned artists from different regions of the country. Byagul Khojaniyazova conducted an in-depth analysis of the graphic and painting works of Mary-based artist Gurbangeldi Gurbanov, highlighting the importance of traditional values in his art. Sakhragul Bayryyeva explored the beauty of seascapes created by Balkan artist Nazmammet Satlykguliyev. Meanwhile, Makhym Meredova brought to life the images of Turkmen poets and the subtle details of traditional women’s costumes depicted in the paintings of artist Aykhan Hajiyev.
The work carried out by these young scholars represents a well-structured and comprehensive theoretical foundation that can serve as a valuable resource for creating new catalogues, organizing exhibitions, and further studying the history of Turkmen art.
