The State-Owned Concerns Turkmennebit and Turkmengaz Will Purchase Industrial Tubular Products from China

At the June 12 meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan, decisions were made aimed at technical modernization and expansion of production capacity in the country's fuel and energy sector. During his report, Deputy Prime Minister Guvanch Agajanov briefed the head of state on the current activities of the state-owned concerns Turkmengaz and Turkmengaz.
The Deputy Prime Minister noted that relevant fuel and energy sector entities are currently taking appropriate measures to steadily increase natural gas production, ensure reliable supplies to domestic and foreign consumers, and further develop promising oil and gas fields. In this context, particular importance is attached to effective practical cooperation with leading specialized companies in the People's Republic of China, a key partner for Turkmenistan in the energy sector. Specific draft documents aimed at ensuring uninterrupted material and technical supplies to the industry's drilling and construction units were submitted to the head of state for review.
After hearing the report, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov emphasized that the country is undertaking targeted and systematic work to develop, digitalize, and technologically modernize the oil and gas industry. To successfully achieve the sector's ambitious goals, the head of state signed decrees approving international contracts.
According to the documents, the Turkmennebit State Concern is authorized to enter into a contract, at its own expense, with the Chinese company Wuxi SP. Steel Tube Manufacturing Co., Ltd. for the purchase of high-strength casing and drill pipe in the quantities necessary for intensive drilling operations at existing and new exploratory wells.
Another decree authorizes the Turkmengaz State Concern to enter into an agreement with Julong Steel Pipe Co., Ltd. from China for the purchase of steel pipes of various diameters, which will be used in construction and installation work carried out by the concern's subordinate institutions and enterprises.
The President of Turkmenistan addressed a number of specific instructions to the Deputy Prime Minister regarding strict oversight of the implementation of these agreements.
