The scientific and practical conference "Environmental Well-being and International Cooperation," held in Ashgabat at the Agricultural Complex, provided a platform for discussing new climate policy instruments for the region. The forum, timed to World Environment Day, allowed participants to summarize the interim results of their joint work.

The discussion was attended by heads of ministries, departments, and UN agencies in Turkmenistan (UNICEF, UNDP). UN Resident Coordinator Dmitry Shlapachenko emphasized the high significance of the Turkmen government's initiative to establish a Regional Climate Technology Center for Central Asia, which is intended to become a unified innovative platform for sharing best practices in the region.

In her speech, UNICEF Director Jalpa Ratna shifted the focus to the educational aspect, highlighting the successful integration of environmental subjects into Turkmenistan's school curriculum, which allows for the training of a new generation of researchers in energy efficiency and waste management from the school level.

The conference's thematic sections divided expert work into three main areas. The first covered issues of modernizing climate law and national legislation. In the second group, experts examined the implementation of resource-saving technologies in industrial production. The final section of the conference was entirely devoted to the Aral Sea region, where Ashgabat proposes pooling international efforts to stabilize local ecosystems and mitigate the consequences of the environmental crisis.
