Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif today, May 24, attended the Pakistan-China B2B investment conference focused on information technology and telecommunications, battery energy storage systems and agriculture. The event was held in Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province, eastern China.

At the invitation of Premier Li Qiang, the Pakistani leader arrived in Hangzhou the previous day for a visit to China that will last until May 26. The B2B investment conference, one of the key events of the prime minister’s visit, brought together senior executives and industry leaders from both countries.

During the event, Shehbaz Sharif witnessed the signing of broader trade and economic agreements and delivered a speech. In his speech, he particularly noted the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Pakistan and China.

The prime minister stated that during his previous visits, as well as at this conference in Hangzhou, additional memoranda of understanding were signed. These MoUs need to be transformed into formal agreements that will lead to the development of bilateral cooperation in four key sectors, including the economy.

After the opening of the conference, business representatives from both countries immediately began discussing cooperation and establishing business contacts. More than 500 Chinese and Pakistani companies attended the event, marking the largest-ever industry cooperation between the two countries.
