On June 5, the second day of the TurkmenTextile Expo 2026 International Exhibition in Ashgabat, the business program will focus on strategic issues that directly impact the scaling of the textile business: exports, efficient logistics, and obtaining prestigious international certificates of conformity.
Today, successful entry into premium foreign markets is determined by more than just the quality of yarn or finished garments. Key factors include the environmental friendliness of raw materials, supply chain transparency, and strict adherence to sustainable development principles (ESG). The organizers dedicated the second day of the forum to these applied tools.
Implementing Better Cotton Standards and Lean Manufacturing
The morning session will open with a practical training session, "Sustainable Cotton Farming and Better Cotton Certification," from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM. The keynote speaker will be Takhmina Saifulloeva, a leading regional expert from Tajikistan.
Session participants will examine in detail the basic principles of the Better Cotton system, key requirements for farms and processing facilities, and modern methods of fiber traceability. Particular emphasis will be placed on step-by-step preparation of Turkmen enterprises for audits and the successful implementation of this global standard, which opens the door to contracts with the world's largest brands.
Export Logistics for Central Asia
The daytime program will continue with a workshop, "Building Export Logistics for Textile Trade from Central Asia," scheduled for 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM.
During this interactive session, experts and business representatives will examine real-world cases of optimizing transport corridors. The focus will be on practical approaches to organizing multimodal deliveries in a changing market, navigating the customs zones of various countries, and reducing costs en route from the textile factory to the end customer.
Global GOTS and OEKO-TEX Standards from Industry Founders
The business day will culminate in an exclusive seminar, "Sustainability and Quality Certification in the Cotton and Textile Sectors," starting at 4:00 PM. This panel is unique due to the caliber of the invited speakers—recognized European experts who have been shaping international environmental standards for decades.
The keynote speaker will be Carola Dieners, founder and managing director of the German consulting firm SYNBELLE GmbH. With a solid background in textile engineering and an MBA, she held senior positions at OEKO-TEX® and PKZ for many years. She specializes in digital solutions for the textile industry and the implementation of CSR strategies, and currently advises businesses on adapting to amfori, Fair Wear, and OEKO-TEX® requirements.
The panel's second keynote speaker will be Katharina Schaus, a respected expert with over 30 years of experience in sustainable textiles. She is known as a co-initiator of the Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) and the only approved consultant for this standard in Europe. Katharina Schaus has conducted hundreds of successful environmental audits worldwide, including in Central Asia, and is well-versed in the specifics of regional production.
Practical Value for Business
The organizers emphasize that all sessions are structured around specific challenges facing manufacturers. Attending the events will allow textile industry representatives to obtain answers to key questions:
— What stringent requirements must be met to guarantee export access;
— What environmental and social certifications are actually required to work with large international retailers;
— How to build a transparent, sustainable, and cost-effective supply chain;
— How to implement green practices in production without losing business margins.
TurkmenTextile Expo 2026 is deliberately moving away from the standard presentation format, transforming the business program into a tangible working tool for companies targeting the global market.
