National Leader of the Turkmen People and Chairman of the Khalk Maslakhaty (People's Council) Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov received Chairman of the Advisory Committee to the Prime Minister of Malaysia, Tan Sri Mohd Hassan Marikan.
The key topic of the meeting was expanding the partnership beyond the Caspian shelf. The Malaysian side expressed interest in participating in the development of the giant Galkynyş gas field to increase marketable gas production. In response, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov invited the partners to consider new projects in the gas chemical industry.
During the conversation, the significance of Petronas' 30th anniversary in Turkmenistan was also emphasized. The signing of a Production Sharing Agreement and a thematic exhibition are planned for this anniversary during the Malaysian Prime Minister's upcoming visit.
The parties paid special attention to the training of national personnel for the oil and gas industry and the implementation of digital technologies in production.
