On May 11, Ambassador of Turkmenistan Atajan Movlamov met with Pakistan's Federal Minister of Commerce, Jam Kamal Khan, in Islamabad. The two sides focused on developing regional trade corridors and strengthening logistical connectivity.
The diplomats placed particular emphasis on expanding trade routes that will ensure uninterrupted transit of goods and direct interaction between business communities. The two sides emphasized that the creation of efficient transport infrastructure is key to strengthening Pakistan's trade relations with Central Asian countries.

Jam Kamal emphasized Pakistan's strategic geographic location as a natural gateway connecting Central Asia to regional and international markets through the country's seaports. He noted that changing regional dynamics and global supply chain models have further increased the importance of Pakistan's transport and logistics potential. Ambassador Movlamov praised Pakistan's positive approach to initiatives to simplify regional trade procedures and develop transport infrastructure. He reaffirmed Turkmenistan's interest in expanding bilateral economic cooperation and strengthening trade and transport ties with Pakistan.
In addition to logistics, the energy sector and the implementation of cross-border infrastructure projects remain priority areas of partnership. The parties confirmed their intention to intensify contacts through chambers of commerce, business forums, and specialized exhibitions to deepen their economic partnership.
