On the eve of the 81st anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War of 1941–1945, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov signed a decree on honoring Turkmenistan's heroic citizens. The document stipulates that war veterans and dedicated home front workers will be solemnly presented with cash awards and valuable gifts on behalf of the head of state.
The decree particularly emphasizes the unparalleled heroism of those who fought in the war and the dedication of mothers, whose work on the home front became the key to the overall Victory. Today, veterans continue to make an invaluable contribution to the country, carrying out important work instilling in young people the ideals of courage, true patriotism, and unity. Their life experience serves as a foundation for strengthening national unity and implementing large-scale state reforms.
The khyakimliks of all velayats, cities, and etraps of Turkmenistan are responsible for organizing the gift-giving ceremonies. These gatherings will serve as further evidence that the heroism of the soldiers and workers of 1941–1945 remains the sacred heritage of the nation, and that caring for the older generation is a priority of state policy.
