Today, April 24, a large-scale cultural event — “Biblionight-2026” — will take place in Belarus. Around 150 libraries have prepared special programs that will begin after regular working hours. Reading halls will transform into interactive spaces featuring science shows, workshops, and creative meetings.
This year, the event is dedicated to several important dates, including the 65th anniversary of the first human spaceflight. The program also supports the Year of Women declared in the country, aimed at recognizing the role of women in modern society and preserving family values.
The main venue will traditionally be the National Library in Minsk. The event will start at 7:00 PM with an opening ceremony. Under the slogan “Space of Meanings,” guests will be offered dozens of activities — from chess tournaments and Mafia games to expert consultations and meetings with writers.
At the “Literary Kitchen”, aspiring authors will learn how to publish their books. For those interested in style and public speaking, the “Women’s Space” will host fashion shows and speech technique lessons from well-known presenters.
One of the highlights of the night will be stargazing. On the 23rd floor of the National Library, visitors will be able to observe the stars through a telescope from an open observation deck while enjoying live music.
“BiblioNight” is an excellent example of how modern libraries are becoming attractive hubs for young people and families. Readers have the opportunity not only to explore new books but also to gain new knowledge and skills for free in an unusual, interactive environment.
