On April 15, as part of a visit to our country, a delegation from Beijing University of Chinese Medicine, led by Rector Tang Zhishu, visited the headquarters of the Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov Charitable Foundation for Assistance to Children in Need of Care, located in Arkadag.
At the Foundation's headquarters, the Rector of Beijing University of Chinese Medicine and members of his delegation met with Oguljahan Atabayeva, Vice President for Medical Affairs of the Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov Charitable Foundation for Assistance to Children in Need of Care, TDH reports.
Noting her great pleasure to welcome the delegation of a friendly country to Turkmenistan, the Vice President of the Foundation congratulated the guest on being awarded the title of Honorary Professor and the opening of the "Cabinet of Alternative Medicine" at the Myrat Garryev State Medical University of Turkmenistan.
Emphasizing the significance of the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between the Myrat Garryev State Medical University of Turkmenistan and the Beijing University of Chinese Medicine on the establishment of the Turkmen-Chinese Center for Traditional Chinese Medicine, Vice President O. Atabayeva noted that this event marks the advancement of interstate relations to a qualitatively new level of development.
Tang Zhishu emphasized the extensive nature of the Foundation's charitable activities. In this regard, the guest noted that he was honored to meet with the Foundation's Vice President during his visit and discuss issues related to enhancing bilateral cooperation, thanking her for the opportunity.
The Vice President for Medical Affairs of the Charitable Foundation noted that our countries are bound by relations built on a foundation of strong friendship, mutual trust, and respect.
It was noted that, under the constant attention of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov and President Xi Jinping of the People's Republic of China, Turkmen-Chinese relations are developing dynamically across the entire spectrum. It was also emphasized that the recent talks between the National Leader of the Turkmen People and Chairman of the Khalk Maslakhaty of Turkmenistan, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, and the President of the People's Republic of China opened up broad opportunities for expanding bilateral cooperation.
As O. Atabayeva noted, the interstate partnership encompasses political and diplomatic, trade and economic, cultural, and humanitarian spheres. This year marks the 20th anniversary of strategic Turkmen-Chinese cooperation in the gas sector. This is clear evidence of the intensification of productive bilateral interaction in various areas.
The Vice President of the Charitable Foundation also noted that, on the invitation of Ms. Li Bin, Chairperson of the Soong Ching Ling Foundation of China, she paid a working visit to China, during which she held a number of meetings with heads of education and healthcare institutions. A Memorandum of Understanding was also signed between the Soong Ching Ling Foundation and the Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov Charitable Foundation for Assistance to Children in Need of Care. Great importance is currently being attached to addressing the objectives arising from this document.
O. Atabayeva, as Vice President for Medical Affairs of the Charitable Foundation, noted her interest in expanding cooperation in children's healthcare, comprehensive treatment, and rehabilitation of young patients. As emphasized, the Foundation was established in 2021 on the initiative of the National Leader of the Turkmen People, the Chairman of the Khalk Maslakhaty of Turkmenistan. Its activities focus on protecting children's health and creating favorable living conditions for them.
Noting that the Foundation has celebrated its fifth anniversary, O. Atabayeva emphasized that extensive charitable work has been carried out during this period. Complex surgeries were performed on sick children using the Foundation's funds. The Children's Health and Rehabilitation Center named after Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov as well as a 150-child kindergarten operates under its auspices. These facilities provide the necessary conditions for both health-improving activities and educational activities for children.
At the national level, the Charitable Foundation works collaboratively with government agencies, public organizations, and civil society to provide assistance to sick children and other children in need of social support, the Foundation's Vice President continued. In this context, great importance is attached to the further expansion of the Foundation's activities.
Along with providing medical services, the Foundation promotes the moral, intellectual, and physical development of children, and also supports the construction of educational and sports complexes, which is a significant contribution to ensuring a bright future for the younger generation, O. Atabayeva emphasized.
Noting the interest in the specifics of alternative medicine and its achievements, the Vice President of the Charitable Foundation confirmed her willingness to explore Chinese proposals for the application of this type of medicine in children's health care.
As the guest noted, alternative medicine centers are currently open in Australia, Russia, the United States, and Germany, and Turkmenistan's inclusion in this list demonstrates the significant attention paid to human health and the use of effective treatment methods in this beautiful country. Emphasizing that it is a great honor for Chinese partners to contribute to the development of bilateral relations in this area, the Rector reiterated her deep appreciation to the Turkmen side for the high level of organization of the planned events.
Thanking the guest for his kind words, Oguljahan Atabayeva, Vice President for Treatment at the Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov Charitable Foundation for Assistance to Children in Need of Care, reported that hippotherapy, a form of natural restorative therapy, has been established in our country.
A representative delegation, led by the rector of the Beijing University of Chinese Medicine, visited the Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov Children's Health and Rehabilitation Center. The center's doctors briefed the Chinese guests on the types of medical services provided to children and the specific features of the equipment installed there.
As noted, the health restoration of young patients is carried out in a comprehensive manner, harmoniously combining the achievements of modern medicine and advanced methods of therapeutic exercise.
The Chinese guests also visited the Gorogly State Equestrian Circus in Arkadag, where they learned about the work and unique features of the equestrian circus, as well as the potential of hippotherapy in the rehabilitation of young patients with musculoskeletal disorders.
Then, the Galkynysh National Equestrian Games Group performed there.
