The British corporation British Petroleum (BP) has officially confirmed its readiness for systematic and long-term cooperation with Uzbekistan. The prospects of large-scale investment projects were discussed by Uzbekistan’s Ambassador Ravshan Usmanov and BP’s Head of International Development Department, Michael Denison, reports Yuz.uz.
This meeting was a continuation of government-level negotiations held in February. Both sides noted that a solid foundation has already been established for implementing joint industrial initiatives.
The British side expressed strong interest in developing the country’s energy sector. The cooperation will cover exploration and extraction of hydrocarbon resources, as well as infrastructure modernization. Special attention will be given to the introduction of modern digital technologies in the industry.
The entry of a giant like BP will significantly strengthen Uzbekistan’s energy potential and increase the investment attractiveness of the entire region. It is expected that the company’s delegation’s participation in the 5th Tashkent International Investment Forum will serve as a platform for signing new concrete agreements.
