Artificial intelligence (AI) and robotic products demonstrated at the Beijing International AI Application and Robot Innovation Show feature wide application in daily life, corporate offices, and different work scenarios across various industries.
More than 200 AI and robotics brands from home and abroad presented their latest technologies and products at the three-day show, which opened on Wednesday at the China International Exhibition Center.
Highlights include smart wearables capable of health monitoring and early illness detection, robotic hands with high degrees of flexibility, quadrupeds tackling obstacle courses, and humanoid robots dancing and performing various household chores.
Seeyon, a tech company focused on developing software for assisting enterprise operation and management, brought to the event CoMi, a new AI-powered intelligent collaborative operation platform.
"Our CoMi intelligent agent, newly launched this year, is designed for state-owned enterprises, government agencies, and private listed companies. We call it a digital worker. While AI capabilities are widely used, their application to enterprises is still relatively limited. We aim to address this key issue. AI model is like a child; everyone has the agent, but the crucial question is how to nurture it into an adult that works for you. That's what we do. We need to continuously provide it with data, so that it can help enterprise managers in managing and operating the business -- this is where it needs to grow," said Zhang Ling, a marketing specialist with Seeyon.
Beijing-based X-Humanoid, established in 2023, is China's first full-stack technology company specializing in embodied intelligent robots, focusing on the core technologies, product development, and application of embodied intelligent robots.
Tian Yajing, global marketing manager of X-Humanoid, said at the event that they have been working with companies in multiple industries to test the capabilities of the humanoid robots. So they will be applied in more scenarios in the future.
"Our company has already started collaborating on logistics handling and packaging, as well as commercial services such as 24-hour restocking and inspection of supermarket shelves and convenience stores. We've also been developing unmanned 24-hour self-guided tours and showing around at event venues and exhibition halls. Furthermore, in various industries with hazardous environments, such as those with high voltage, high electricity, toxic gases, or oxygen-deficiency environment. As human life is most precious, we can use robots for remote control to perform these dangerous tasks," she said.
Also drawing crowds are AI-driven humanoid robots that can free humans from all kinds of household chores, such as doing dishes and folding laundry, and serve as fun companions and intelligent caregivers for children and the elderly.
With the rapid development of robotics, more and more people are paying close attention to this field and its infinite possibilities. Liu Yang, who works in the fire department, came all the way from northwest China's Shaanxi Province to see the latest fruits in the robotics industry. He is confident that they will be of use in more fields in the near future.
"I think robots will play a significant role in the future, particularly in elderly care and home-based services, as well as education, particularly in raising children. They can also assist with household chores. As for my industry, fire safety and security, robots are applicable in many scenarios, including dangerous places like factories and mines where human patrols are needed. There are indeed numerous application scenarios," Liu said.
