The official meeting between National Leader of the Turkmen People and Chairman of the Khalk Maslakhaty (People's Council) Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and President of China Xi Jinping in Beijing on March 18 was not just the culmination of their visit, but a powerful manifestation of their unwavering friendship. The Chinese leader himself emphasized the symbolism of the occasion: the meeting coincided with the end of the Chinese New Year and the eve of Novruz Bayramy. This intersection of two great cultural holidays served as the backdrop for a profound conversation about the future, in which Turkmenistan and China act as strategic pillars of each other in Eurasia.
The central theme of the talks was the convergence of two global strategies: "Revival of the Great Silk Road" and "One Belt, One Road." The leaders acknowledged that a unique system of interstate relations has been created that has stood the test of time and has reached the level of a comprehensive partnership. Xi Jinping emphasized that China views Turkmenistan as a reliable partner in Central Asia and consistently supports the country's policy of permanent neutrality, as well as its initiatives within the UN aimed at global security.

The energy sector remains the backbone of this alliance. Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and Xi Jinping discussed in detail the prospects for further development of the super-giant Galkynysh field. Successful gas cooperation opens the door to new technological stages, where Turkmen resources and Chinese innovations create a benchmark for energy diplomacy.
But the partnership extends far beyond cooperation in the fuel and energy sector: it focuses on transport logistics, the implementation of water-saving technologies, green energy, and the supply of environmentally friendly agricultural products from Turkmenistan to the vast Chinese market.
The humanitarian dimension of the meeting was filled with concrete future projects. The parties discussed the opening of the Lu Ban Workshops and a center for traditional Chinese medicine in Turkmenistan, as well as opportunities for Turkmen youth to study at Chinese universities. Intellectual property and horse breeding were a special focus of the dialogue—areas where Turkmenistan, the birthplace of the Akhal-Teke horse, and China, a country that deeply reveres the "heavenly horses," find unique common ground.
During the meeting, the National Leader of the Turkmen People presented President of China Xi Jinping with an invitation from President Serdar Berdimuhamedov to visit our country at his convenience.
The final chord of the meeting, emphasizing the sincere and trusting nature of the relationship, was a gift exchange ceremony. On behalf of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, the National Leader of the Turkmen People presented Xi Jinping with a magnificent Akhal-Teke horse named Gadyrly.

Accepting the gift, the Chinese leader warmly recalled the horse named Gahryman, given to him 12 years ago, noting that Akhal-Teke horses are a symbol of the highest respect in China. The two leaders' personal walk after the official part of the meeting was living proof that the relationship between Ashgabat and Beijing today is not simply a businesslike arrangement, but a profound understanding of shared destinies and long-term goals.
