National Leader of the Turkmen People, Chairman of the Khalk Maslakhaty (People's Council), Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, made a working visit to the city of Arkadag, where he inspected the progress of the second phase of construction and the projects for developing the industrial and social infrastructure of the "smart city."
Ecology and Smart Home Standards
The second phase of the megacity's construction focuses not only on expanding the housing stock but also on customizing the urban space. Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov personally inspected samples of furniture and interior design solutions for the new apartments. The key requirement is to combine durable materials with high standards of comfort. Environmental friendliness remains a fundamental aspect: the introduction of deep water purification systems and energy-efficient lighting should become the norm for every home.
Particular attention is paid to the aesthetics of iconic buildings. After reviewing the design options for the city's new mosque, the National Leader emphasized that the building's decor must adhere to the canons of Islamic architecture while remaining durable and technologically advanced.
Security Logistics and the Medical Cluster
During the inspection, projects for the improvement of Akhalteke Atlary Avenue and the modernization of the Polatly Equestrian Monument were presented. The road infrastructure emphasizes intelligent traffic management systems: the placement of traffic lights and road signs should take the human factor into account as much as possible and ensure the safety of drivers and pedestrians.
The active phase of construction of the medical cluster, a key element of the second phase, continues. Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov emphasized that the quality of construction of medical facilities directly correlates with the long-term development strategy of the healthcare system, where modern urban planning serves as the foundation for innovative medicine.
Social Agenda and "Winged" Horses
Plans for celebrations for March 8 were discussed at a working meeting with city leaders. In the city of Arkadag, International Women's Day will be celebrated not only by honoring mothers awarded the honorary title "Ene mähri" but also by housewarming parties for large families. The fifth anniversary of the Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov Charitable Foundation for Assistance to Children in Need of Care will also be celebrated in 2026.
During the visit, the National Leader went to an equestrian complex, where he enjoyed a horseback ride. In the context of the year's motto, dedicated to horses, a series of international equestrian events are planned in Turkmenistan. Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov gave instructions on their organization, noting the importance of actively involving young people studying in relevant fields in this process.
