In Turkmenistan, the development of a National Artificial Intelligence Strategy is planned within the framework of the State Program for the Development of the Digital Economy for 2026–2028. The document will become one of the key directions of the country’s digital transformation.
The relevant work will be carried out by the Ministry of Communications of Turkmenistan, which has been designated by presidential decree as the authorized body responsible for implementing the digital economy. The ministry has also been granted authority in the fields of electronic document management, digital services, and the development of e-government.
According to the program, special attention will be paid to the introduction of artificial intelligence, blockchain, and Internet of Things technologies across various sectors of the economy. It also provides for the training of specialized professionals, advanced training for personnel, and support for talented youth.
It is expected that the implementation of these measures will strengthen the country’s technological potential, attract foreign investment into the IT sector, and enhance the level of cybersecurity.
