The Legacy of the Wise — a Bridge of Friendship: Literary Evening at the Turkmen National Institute of World Languages

On February 6, a cultural and literary evening dedicated to the 585th anniversary of the birth of Alisher Navoi and the 543rd anniversary of the birth of Zahiriddin Muhammad Babur was held at the Turkmen National Institute of World Languages named after Dovletmammed Azadi.
The event was jointly organized by the Institute of World Languages and the Embassy of the Republic of Uzbekistan in Ashgabat. During the evening, linguistics students performed works by great thinkers who left a rich literary heritage for the development of cultural diplomacy between nations — Magtymguly Pyragy, Alisher Navoi, and Zahiriddin Muhammad Babur — in various languages. The screening of video materials added special expressiveness to the literary evening.

An exhibition of wise books reflecting the literary heritage of the great thinkers of the East, which strengthens the bridge of friendship between the Turkmen and Uzbek peoples, as well as their national values, was also organized and made a strong impression on the participants.
During the event, Uzbek songs performed by students of the institute’s “Altyn Miras” Cultural Center, along with national dances of the two countries, became another vivid expression of the flourishing Turkmen-Uzbek fraternal friendship and the high respect shown for shared spiritual values.

At present, humanitarian cooperation between the Turkmen and Uzbek peoples — who for centuries have lived in brotherhood based on shared traditions, national values, literary heritage, and the closeness of their languages — is developing more and more actively. This is also clearly reflected in the joint peace-loving policies pursued by the two nations.
