Media Diplomacy in 4K and Equipment from South Korea for the Institute of International Relations of the MFA of Turkmenistan

Ashgabat, February 3 | ORIENT. In 21st-century diplomacy, a word is not only the text of a note, but also a video frame, live broadcast, and the quality of a digital signal. Thanks to the Official Development Assistance (ODA) Program of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Korea, the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan received a powerful package of high-tech equipment. The handover ceremony took place at the Graduate School of Diplomacy on Tuesday.

The Republic of Korea is today a global leader in innovation. In 2025, Seoul allocated a record $4.8 billion to support its partners around the world through ODA. Turkmenistan occupies a special place in this strategy. As Chargé d'Affaires of the Embassy of the Republic of Korea Kim Jun-chul noted, this is not just technical assistance, but an investment in the future personnel who will represent Turkmenistan on the global stage.

The list of donated equipment is impressive in its professional focus. This is not just office equipment, but a full-fledged production cycle:
4K TV Studio and Broadcasting: SONY PXW-Z150 Cameras: The professional standard for news reporting. Students can now shoot interviews and stories in quality that matches global television broadcasters. Sennheiser and The t.bone Microphone Systems: A complete conference room setup (21 microphones!) and wireless systems for on-location filming. Sound is 50% of success in diplomatic protocol.
Visualization and “smart building”: an LED wall (100 modules) will create a high-tech platform for briefings at the institute. The VX1000 controller will allow you to display infographics and live broadcasts in real time.
Samsung 85" QLED 4K TVs: Giant screens for analyzing international media and conducting video conferences with foreign universities.
Infokiosks: Digital navigation and access to information resources of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs right in the hall of the Institute.
Mobile headquarters: 10 Asus Vivobook 17 laptops: These are workstations for editing, data processing and rapid reporting.

Rector of the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Gulshat Yusupova emphasized that this equipment will replenish the base for a training television studio, where students of the Faculty of International Journalism will practice in conditions as close as possible to real international press centers. Today they are learning not just to write texts and broadcast, but to manage meaning in the digital environment.
Relations between Ashgabat and Seoul today are a fusion of eastern wisdom and high technology. Bilateral partnership is also embodied in large-scale industrial projects. Leading Korean companies, such as Hyundai Engineering and Daewoo E&C, have already secured the status of strategic partners, implementing complex projects in petrochemicals and the construction of “smart cities” in Turkmenistan.

This synergy continues in the multilateral dialogue format “Central Asia + Republic of Korea”, where Turkmenistan plays the role of a key link in transport and energy corridors. Today’s equipment transfer ceremony is an investment in the intellectual foundation of cooperation: by training personnel on an advanced technical basis, the country ensures long-term continuity and high quality of future dialogue between our peoples.
