Ashgabat, December 26 | ORIENT. The motto for 2026 has been announced: "Independent, Neutral Turkmenistan – the Homeland of the Purposeful Winged Steeds." The corresponding resolution of the Mejlis was approved today by President Serdar Berdimuhamedov at an expanded meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers and the State Security Council.
As Mejlis Chairperson Dunyagozel Gulmanova reported, the new motto and corresponding emblem were chosen based on numerous suggestions received from work collectives, public organizations, and citizens.
The choice of the winged horse as the symbol of the year is deeply symbolic for the Turkmen people. It is a tribute to the Akhal-Teke horses, who have accompanied the nation for centuries, embodying its spirit. The upcoming Year of the Horse according to the Eastern calendar underscores this historical context.
Approving the proposed motto, the head of state emphasized that naming each year has become a good tradition, uniting the people around common goals. The image of a determined steed reflects the country's current pace of development.
The adoption of the motto and emblem for the coming year marked a bright chord in the outgoing year 2025 and set the direction for development in the near future, becoming a guide for Turkmenistan's cultural and political events throughout 2026.
