TOKYO, December 19 | ORIENT. During his working visit to Tokyo, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov met with Emperor Naruhito of Japan. This is their second meeting this year, underscoring the exceptional dynamism and trusting nature of Turkmen-Japanese relations.
Warmly welcoming the head of Turkmenistan, Emperor Naruhito conveyed sincere greetings to National Leader of the Turkmen People, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov. During the conversation, the two sides celebrated significant milestones in 2025: the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan's neutrality and the successful holding of the International Forum for Peace and Trust in Ashgabat.
Serdar Berdimuhamedov congratulated the Emperor on the successful completion of the World Expo in Osaka. Turkmenistan's participation in the exhibition provided a vibrant platform for presenting the country's culture and achievements to the international community.
The head of state emphasized that Turkmenistan, with its colossal resources, is relying on Japanese technological solutions for their development.
Particular attention was paid to Japanese experience in water resource management and environmental technologies, which are priorities for the region's sustainable development.
The meeting reaffirmed Ashgabat and Tokyo's commitment to a long-term strategic partnership that combines deep respect for traditions and a desire for an innovative future.
