UNESCO has officially included the 100th anniversary of the birth of People’s Artist of Uzbekistan, legendary singer Tavakkal Kadyrov, in the list of international commemorative anniversaries for 2026–2027. This decision confirms global recognition of the outstanding performer’s contribution to the development of musical art and the promotion of the organization’s core values.
The initiative, proposed by Uzbekistan, received broad support from the international community. Türkiye, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and Turkmenistan acted as co-authors of the proposal.
Tavakkal Kadyrov is an outstanding representative of Uzbek music and vocal artistry. His work has become an integral part of the national cultural heritage, and the inclusion of his anniversary in UNESCO’s calendar will help widely promote Uzbekistan’s unique culture on the global stage.
Inclusion in this prestigious international list will make it possible to organize a series of major events in 2026–2027, including:
• International academic conferences and creative evenings;
• Concerts dedicated to the artist’s legacy, both in Uzbekistan and abroad;
• The publication of commemorative materials and works highlighting the richness of Uzbek classical singing.
This landmark event once again demonstrates how carefully Uzbekistan preserves its traditions and how highly they are valued around the world.
