National Leader of the Turkmen People and Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty (People's Council) Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov was awarded a commemorative medal for the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan's neutrality and a set of commemorative plaques. The corresponding decree was signed by President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov. This was reported by the "Watan" news program on Turkmen television.
The document was signed "in recognition of Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov's significant personal contribution to the implementation of fundamental reforms for the development of the state and the improvement of public living standards, as well as to strengthening Turkmenistan's permanent neutrality." It also recognizes "the enhancement of the country's international prestige" and the implementation of a "policy of good-neighborliness and sustainable development aimed at ensuring global peace, trust, and prosperity."
The resolution also acknowledges "particularly outstanding services to society and the state," valuable advice and recommendations on establishing a policy of permanent neutrality in national legislation, as well as proposals for awards received from people's representatives, public associations, work collectives, and citizens of the country.
The award ceremony is timed to coincide with International Neutrality Day and the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan's permanent neutrality, which falls during the International Year of Peace and Trust.
