Ashgabat, December 12 | ORIENT. President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Japarov addressed the forum "Peace and Trust: Unity of Purpose for a Sustainable Future," dedicated to the International Year of Peace and Trust, International Neutrality Day, and the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan's permanent neutrality.
He emphasized that Turkmenistan's policy of neutrality has ensured domestic political stability, public harmony, and laid a solid foundation for the country's progressive development.
Kyrgyzstan highly values Turkmenistan's contribution to regional processes and to strengthening the energy security of Central Asia and neighboring regions, Sadyr Japarov said.
The President of Kyrgyzstan added that Turkmenistan's gas and energy projects significantly enhance the stability of energy supplies, expand markets, and create additional opportunities for mutually beneficial economic cooperation.
In this context, he noted the successfully established cooperation between Turkmenistan and Kyrgyzstan in the field of electricity supplies.
Sadyr Japarov also pointed to the significant potential for cooperation in transport and logistics. Kyrgyzstan is ready to participate in the development of multimodal routes, the expansion of existing corridors, and the creation of new joint logistics chains.
"Modernization of transport and the development of multimodal routes remain key objectives for our countries," Sadyr Japarov said.
In this context, he emphasized the particular significance of the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway project, as well as the Kambarata-1 hydroelectric power station project in the energy sector.
Kyrgyzstan highly appreciates Turkmenistan's initiative to adopt a UN resolution declaring 2025 the International Year of Peace and Trust. Sadyr Japarov also noted Turkmenistan's active role in strengthening a unique regional format—the Consultative Meeting of the Heads of State of Central Asia.
He emphasized that this mechanism for direct and trusting dialogue has become an important platform for discussing common challenges and developing coordinated approaches, which is particularly relevant in the current circumstances.
"We are convinced that our countries face a common goal – to jointly strengthen peace, prevent conflicts, and promote sustainable development," the head of the Kyrgyz Republic said.
He noted that the successful completion of the legal formalization of state borders with Uzbekistan and Tajikistan this year was an important step in this direction, making a significant contribution to regional security and reaffirming our commitment to a policy of peace and good-neighborliness.
