Ashgabat, December 12 | ORIENT. President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov met with President of the Republic of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan as part of the International Forum for Peace and Trust. The talks reaffirmed Turkmenistan's continued priority of strengthening its strategic partnership with Turkey with a long-term focus.
President Serdar Berdimuhamedov emphasized that Recep Tayyip Erdogan's personal presence demonstrates support for Turkmenistan's policy of neutrality and the great importance Turkey attaches to the principles of peace.
In response, Recep Tayyip Erdogan expressed gratitude for the reception and emphasized that Turkey highly values fraternal Turkmenistan's peaceful foreign policy and its impressive achievements in all areas.
President Serdar Berdimuhamedov expressed firm confidence that the results of the Turkish leader's visit will give new impetus to the expansion of bilateral relations.
The two countries are bound by centuries-old ties of friendship and brotherhood, which provide a solid foundation for deepening interstate dialogue at the highest level.
At the meeting, it was emphasized that the Republic of Turkey is one of Turkmenistan's key trade and economic partners.
The heads of state noted the extensive opportunities for developing constructive cooperation in the following priority areas: fuel and energy, transport and communications, agriculture, and investment.
Cooperation in these areas, as noted, should develop both bilaterally and regionally.
The interlocutors also discussed the importance of steadily expanding cultural and humanitarian dialogue between the fraternal peoples of both countries.
