President of Iran Masoud Pezeshkian will visit Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan in the coming days. This was announced by Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmail Baghaei, according to the Iranian MNA news agency.
The announcement of the upcoming trip comes amid Tehran's active diplomatic engagement in the region. Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Baghaei mentioned the visit to Ashgabat and Astana, along with comments on ongoing consultations with Azerbaijan, as well as upcoming meetings with high-ranking officials from Russia and Belarus.
This activity demonstrates the priority Iran places on strengthening relations with its neighbors in the Caspian region and Central Asia.
Although the official purpose of the visit to Ashgabat was not announced, President Pezeshkian's trip to Turkmenistan is expected to take place in the context of major international events. In the coming days, the International Year of Peace and Trust Forum will be held in the capital of Turkmenistan, which could serve as a possible venue for the meeting.
