During a meeting of the State Security Council on December 3, the President of Turkmenistan signed a number of decrees and resolutions concerning personnel changes in the prosecutor's office and courts of the country. The changes affected the highest echelons of oversight bodies, as well as the judiciary in all velayats and the capital.
Key changes affected the heads of prosecutor's offices at the regional level. The prosecutor of the Balkan velayat was dismissed due to the expiration of his term. The prosecutor who previously held a similar position in the Dashoguz region was appointed to this position.
As part of the rotation, the position of prosecutor of the Dashoguz velayat was filled by the former prosecutor of the Mary etrap of the Mary velayat.
There were also appointments to specialized and etrap prosecutors, including the Mary prosecutor for overseeing compliance with the law in correctional facilities.
Judicial appointments affected all regions of Turkmenistan, including the capital. By presidential decree, new court chairmen and judges were appointed, many of whom were awarded qualification classes.
Ashgabat and Akhal Velayat: New judges were appointed, including a family judge for the Berkararlyk Etrap Court and the chairperson of the Ak Bugday Etrap Court in Akhal Velayat.
Balkan Velayat: Judges were rotated in the Balkanabat and Turkmenbashi City Courts, as well as in the etrap courts.
Lebap and Dashoguz Velayats: New judges were appointed in several key etrap courts, indicating a significant turnover of personnel in these regions.
Mary Velayat: New judges were appointed, including a family judge for the Mary City Court.
Overall, personnel changes affected the courts of all five velayats, as well as the capital, with the aim of improving the efficiency of judicial proceedings and strengthening the legal system, as mandated at a meeting of the State Security Council.
A separate presidential decree confirmed the appointment of eight new district and farmer association prosecutors in the regions. These appointments cover the Akhal velayat (1 appointment), Dashoguz velayat (2 appointments), Lebap velayat (3 appointments), and Mary velayat (2 appointments).
The changes in the composition of district prosecutors and the judiciary in the regions reflect a commitment to systematically renewing personnel in key structures that ensure law and order at the local level.
