Russian President Vladimir Putin, on the invitation of his Turkmen counterpart, Serdar Berdimuhamedov, will visit Turkmenistan to participate in the forum of the International Year of Peace and Trust. The trip was announced at a briefing by Putin's aide, Yuri Ushakov, according to TASS.
"Our president is scheduled to participate in the forum of the International Year of Peace and Trust in Turkmenistan on December 13," the Kremlin spokesman said. "This forum, and this event in general, this visit, is dedicated to the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan's permanent neutrality."
He also noted that the President will be in St. Petersburg on December 21-22, where an informal meeting of CIS leaders will take place.
