President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov sent his deepest condolences to the President of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka, Anura Kumar Dissanayake, regarding the floods in the country caused by heavy rains, which have resulted in numerous casualties, injuries, and destruction.
The head of state expressed sincere sympathy and support to the families and friends of those killed during this difficult time, as well as wishes for a speedy recovery for those injured.
According to the latest reports, the devastating floods and landslides caused by Tropical Cyclone Ditwa have killed more than 410 people, with hundreds still missing. Sri Lankan authorities have called this disaster the worst disaster to hit the country in a decade. A state of emergency has been declared on the island, and the government has appealed for international assistance.
Earlier, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov expressed condolences to the King of Thailand and the President of Indonesia, as all three countries suffered from a series of unprecedented cyclones and floods that claimed the lives of over 1,300 people in the region.
