On Monday, December 1, the mission of the new Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the State of Kuwait, Abdulaziz Ahmad Al-Adwani (with residence in Ankara), officially commenced in Ashgabat.
The new Ambassador presented his credentials to Speaker of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan, Dunyagozel Gulmanova, who accepted them on behalf of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov.
The Speaker of the National Parliament congratulated the diplomat on his appointment and wished him success in strengthening multifaceted cooperation. In his response, the Ambassador conveyed warm greetings and best wishes from Emir of the State of Kuwait, Sheikh Mishaal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, to President Serdar Berdimuhamedov and National Leader of the Turkmen People, Chairman of the Khalk Maslakhaty, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.
On the same day, Ambassador Abdulaziz Ahmad Al-Adwani met with Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Akhmet Gurbanov. The two discussed the current state and opportunities for expanding interstate relations.
During the dialogue, the parties confirmed the successful development of Turkmen-Kuwaiti relations in both bilateral and multilateral formats, primarily at the UN and other authoritative international organizations. The importance of regular high-level contacts for further strengthening cooperation in the political, diplomatic, trade, economic, cultural, and humanitarian spheres was particularly emphasized.
Special attention was paid to the participation of the Kuwaiti delegation in the upcoming International Forum, which will be held in Ashgabat in December and will be dedicated to the International Year of Peace and Trust, Neutrality Day, and the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan's permanent neutrality.
The Ambassador of Kuwait assured that he will make every effort to further strengthen friendly bilateral relations and strategic partnership.
