The Open Eurasian Film Award "Diamond Butterfly" ceremony took place in Moscow on November 27. Awards were presented to filmmakers from 17 countries for the best works reflecting the uniqueness and richness of national cinema.
A major success for Turkmenistan was the victory of Meilis Khudaiberenov, who was recognized as Best Artist for his work on the film "Composer." This achievement underscores the high level of skill of Turkmen filmmakers and their contribution to the development of the Eurasian cultural space.
The award was a diamond-encrusted butterfly figurine created by renowned artist Yuri Kuper.

The ceremony recognized artists from Central Asia and other regions:
Best Film: "Against the Current" by Chinese director Xu Zheng.
Best Director: Goran Radovanović ("The Forest King," Serbia).
Best Actor: Aleksandr Adabashyan for his work in "Two in One Life, Not Counting the Dog."
Best Actress: Svetlana Kryuchkova won (also for "Two in One Life, Not Counting the Dog").
Best Supporting Actor: Anvar Kartaev for his role in "Chasing Spring" (Uzbekistan).
Best Supporting Actress: Awarded to Sonia Hussain ("Termite," Pakistan-Canada).
Best Cinematographer: Talant Akynbekov ("Black, Red, Yellow," Kyrgyzstan).
Best Screenplay: Carol Shore (South Africa) for "Old Faithful Blues."
Best Composer: Yuri Poteyenko (Belarus).
Best Film by a Non-Eurasian Country: "Ali Primera" by Venezuelan director Daniel Yegres Richard.
For Contribution to World Cinema: The prize was awarded to the outstanding director Majid Majidi (Iran).
Works submitted for the award came from Turkmenistan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Russia, China, Turkey, Serbia, Venezuela, South Africa, Iran, and other countries.
