Ashgabat/Doha, November 26 | ORIENT. A delegation from Turkmenistan, led by Mergen Gurdov, Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, met in Doha with the leadership of the Qatar Chamber of Commerce and Industry. During the talks, which took place on Wednesday, the parties discussed ways to develop trade and economic relations and enhance interaction between the private sectors.
The Turkmen side expressed its intention to strengthen cooperation with Qatari business circles, building on the excellent relations between the two friendly countries.
The main issue on the agenda was accelerating the implementation of the agreement to establish a Turkmen-Qatari Business Council.
Mergen Gurdov emphasized that the purpose of this council is to ensure a positive impact on interaction between the business communities of both countries.
For his part, Mohamed bin Ahmed bin Twar Al Kuwari, First Deputy Chairman of the Qatar Chamber of Commerce and Industry, confirmed the strong interest of Qatari businesses in exploring the investment climate and opportunities in Turkmenistan and identifying promising sectors suitable for Qatari investors.

The Qatari side expressed its full support for strengthening ties between the private sectors, noting that it encourages Qatari businessmen to establish trade partnerships with their Turkmen counterparts.
Dr. Mohamed bin Jawhar Al Mohamed, a member of the Qatar Chamber's Board of Directors, noted that such joint business councils play a key role in removing barriers and difficulties the private sector may face. The establishment of the council will bring the business communities closer together, allow them to better explore existing opportunities, and contribute to strengthening economic integration between Qatar and Turkmenistan.
Mergen Gurdov, Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Turkmenistan, officially invited Qatari businessmen to visit Turkmenistan to personally explore existing investment opportunities at the place.
