On November 20, Turkmenistan's Foreign Minister Rashid Meredov met with Special Envoy of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Korea, Joo Hyun-baek, in Ashgabat.
During the talks, which the parties described as crucial for strengthening bilateral relations, a wide range of cooperation issues were discussed. The diplomats explored opportunities for expanding interaction in the political, trade, economic, cultural, and humanitarian spheres, noting that high-level contacts and visits form the foundation of the partnership.
Special attention was paid to preparations for the upcoming Central Asia-Republic of Korea Summit, scheduled for 2026 in Korea. Coordination within this format underscores the growing role of the strategic partnership between Turkmenistan and Seoul in the regional agenda.

The diplomats also discussed the participation of the Republic of Korea's delegation in the International Forum on Peace and Trust, scheduled for December 12, 2020, in Ashgabat.
Emphasizing the long-standing successful activities of Korean companies in Turkmenistan, the parties also reviewed the progress of existing joint projects in various fields. This demonstrates the sustainable nature of trade and economic cooperation, which is an important component of bilateral relations.
