From November 6 to 9, Poland hosted the 7th International Student Team Competition in Mathematics (ISTCiM-2025), organized by the University of Silesia in Katowice. Turkmen students demonstrated a high level of preparation and earned two silver medals.
These victories at a prestigious international competition became a symbolic gift for the upcoming 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan’s permanent Neutrality.
Students of the Yagshygeldi Kakayev International University of Oil and Gas distinguished themselves in particular:
• Kerimguly Bendov won a silver medal, taking second place in the individual category.
• Together with Islam Khaiytmukhammedov, he also secured a silver medal for Turkmenistan in the team competition.
Teams from seven leading Turkmen universities participated in the Olympiad, including Magtymguly Turkmen State University and the Oguz Han Engineering and Technology University.
ISTCiM-2025 brought together students from universities of Austria, the United Kingdom, Poland, Slovenia, Italy, Spain, Germany, and France, reaffirming the high international status of the event.
The success of Turkmen youth on a European stage highlights the effectiveness of the national education policy, aimed at fostering talented young people whose knowledge and skills receive global recognition.
