German Professors Assessed the Work of Turkmen Medical Centers as Part of a Systematic Partnership.

Ashgabat, October 6 | ORIENT. Turkmenistan and the Federal Republic of Germany continue to develop a systematic partnership in healthcare, aimed at implementing leading global practices and improving the qualifications of local specialists. The next stage of this cooperation was a working visit by German medical professors to Ashgabat.

During the visit, the German specialists visited several institutions of the Directorate of International Medical Centers. Among them was the International Cardiology Center, where German professors shared their experience with their Turkmen colleagues. This center has a long history of cooperation with Germany: cardiac surgeons from Germany first came here in 1998 to perform joint heart surgeries on children and adults.

German experts also visited the Scientific and Clinical Center for Maternal and Child Health, where they learned about the work of the Early Childhood Development and Early Intervention Department.

The German specialists highly praised the work organization and approach of the Turkmen doctors, confirming the effectiveness of the long-term training and modernization program.

Turkmenistan's partnership with Germany in healthcare is long-standing. Since 2011, the Turkmen-German Medical Forum has been regularly convened as one of the formats for cooperation between the Ministry of Health of Turkmenistan and the German Senior Expert Service (SES).

Over the course of this collaboration, more than two hundred German professors have been invited to Turkmenistan for long-term stays. They conduct seminars and provide on-the-job training for specialists (for example, in complex neurosurgical procedures, radiation diagnostics, angiography, and rehabilitation). Hundreds of Turkmen doctors have completed internships at renowned German clinics.

The cooperation extends beyond the exchange of experience and includes joint scientific research, particularly on gestational diabetes.

The high level of partnership is also confirmed by the fact that medical centers in Turkmenistan are equipped with modern equipment from leading German companies such as Siemens, Fresenius, Hospitalia International, and others.
