Students from Turkmenistan to Participate in World Mental Arithmetic Championship in Germany

From October 4 to 6, the World Junior Mental Arithmetic Championship will be held in Bielefeld, Germany. Students from Turkmenistan will take part in this international competition, showcasing their skills in various areas of mental calculations.

The competitors will compete in three age groups, solving problems involving addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, as well as more advanced disciplines such as factorization and working with fractions. All tasks must be solved orally (from memory) within two hours.

The team representing Turkmenistan was formed in April 2025 following a special competition. During the competition, participants solved problems under conditions similar to the World Championship and were able to successfully answer all questions within the given time, earning the right to participate in the international tournament in Germany.

The championship has been held since 2008 and annually gathers over 100 participants from nearly 20 countries. This event highlights the importance of mental arithmetic and facilitates the exchange of experience between young talents from around the world.
