Turkmenistan Took Part in the 3rd Inter-Parliamentary Forum of the Central Asian States
23.09.2025 | 18:10 |On 23 September 2025, the 3rd Inter-Parliamentary Forum of the Central Asian States was held in Bishkek, the Kyrgyz Republic. The delegation of Turkmenistan was represented at the Forum by the Chairman of the Council of Elders.
The heads of parliaments of the Central Asian states also took part in the work of the Forum.
During the Forum, the participants discussed pressing issues of strengthening inter-parliamentary cooperation, developing collaboration in the spheres of economy, regulation of migration processes, and digitalization.
In its statement, the Turkmen side reaffirmed the country’s commitment to the policy of good-neighborliness and constructive cooperation, emphasizing the important role of parliamentary diplomacy in strengthening peace, stability, and trust.
Special emphasis was placed on the fact that, at the initiative of Turkmenistan, the year 2025 has been declared by the United Nations General Assembly as the International Year of Peace and Trust, as well as on the solemn celebration of the 30th Anniversary of the Permanent Neutrality of Turkmenistan.
As a result of the Forum, the Bishkek Declaration was adopted, which confirmed the commitment of the Central Asian states to the further development of inter-parliamentary dialogue, the expansion of economic cooperation, and the joint search for effective solutions in the interests of sustainable development of the region.
It was also announced that the next, 4th Inter-Parliamentary Forum of the Central Asian States will be held in the Republic of Tajikistan.
